Predator Sculpt

Study of Classic Predator from first movie, I started last year and got back to it recently.
Here is a screen grab to convey the feeling of his 3d sculpt.
More to come soon...

Bella

A female anatomically realistic model I've been working on for some time. All hand sculpted with photo references and no fancy scans, which has become a norm these days :)
Mesh is unorganized, which I am retopologizing now. Comments are most welcome.

Cloudstreet

Last year I was involved with modeling few assets for Australian Miniseries Cloudstreet.
I modeled and textured  a hero plane Catalina which appears in the trailer linked below.

Following are some test renders I did during the production.

* note this is not the final version of how it looks in the Show

Adding Arms

So I went in and added arms. That is the power of Voxels!  The idea of NOT bringing in any base mesh, and having change your mind and add more geo/concept at any point of time, is a sculptor's paradise!

some quick shading tests. I'm having a lot of fun with this :)

Testing out skin shading. No textures or bump or spec map there, just basic skin shader.

I'm Alive and so is the Blog!

After been away for almost a year I'm back on blogging. End of last and early this year has been really busy for me. Lots of changes in life. Mostly good so can't really complain.
I'm planning to post most of my 3d artworks and the work in progress here and hope to be regular  from now on on the Updates. Thanks for passing by my blog :)

Deathmask. Here is one of my fist 3dcoat voxel sculpts.
Final design with eyes closed and head tilted a bit backwards. To give that Dead and eery feeling.

Early design with his eyes open.

Clay modeling class : Lifeway

Fun time teaching at Lifeway Modeling class. Getting down and dirty with clay, replicating inspirational sculpts of the great Michelangelo. This helped students learn the traditional way of Anatomy.

Manukau Mall Auckland

At Manukau shopping mall in Auckland, Weta Workshop had a sculpture exhibit, and legendary sculptor Kim Graham was sculpting a Dragon. It was a privilege to do bit of sculpting on dragon's scale details for Kim.

Lifeway college had a booth, for which I did a 2 hour 3D modeling workshop using Mudbox.

Ken, fulltime faculty from Lifeway had his pencil burning too. Making caricatures for the Kids.
